prende, que invita a perderse en sus suntuosos
paisajes, donde los hielos se reflejan en el agua
estática o el viento agita las olas. Los pingüinos pes-
can, las focas se calientan en el sol, las montañas
compiten con los llanos. Los ritmos del tango rondan
en el paisaje y la guitarra canta las baladas chilenas y
nos acompañan a lo largo de un recorrido en el Cono
Sur, con melodías extremosas. Nuestro vuelo de
LanChile nos llevó a Buenos Aires, donde empezó la
aventura de gozar de un magnífico viaje partiendo de
esa maravillosa ciudad.
Punta del Este
Navegando desde Buenos Aires alcanzamos Punta
del Este gracias a unos vientos moderados. La ciudad
surge en el horizonte, como un espejismo, y es la
más exclusiva, la perla del Cono Sur invadida por los
más famosos cuando empieza el verano austral.
Desde el principio de los días calientes atrae al jet set
brasileño y argentino para que se animen las playas,
las calles, las elegantes tiendas y las fiestas que ter-
minan en la alta madrugada. La gente rivaliza en ele-
gancia, con los mejores vestidos, sofisticados
coches, vistosas joyas. La calle Gorlero, vestida de
neón y exquisitas vitrinas, vive al ritmo de las bellas
mujeres que en ella deambulan para lucir sus espec-
taculares cuerpos bronceados, y los hombres lucen
su Porsche o BMW. Los restaurantes de la Rambla
Artigas se llenan de gente, brillan con la música de
las voces, los miembros del equipo de “Amura” parti-
cipan en las fiestas privadas que animan las elegan-
tes mansiones a la orilla del mar o escondidas entre
el pinar. Los casinos como el Conrad estallan de gen-
tío, no faltamos a la cita del famoso té en Las
Cumbres, un maravilloso y exclusivo hotel restau-
rante en la cima del cerro de La Ballena, donde es

Punta del Este
We sailed fromBuenos Aires and reached Punta del
Este thanks to somemoderate winds. The city rises
on the horizon like a mirage. The pearl of the
Southern Cone, it is very exclusive and invaded by
the rich and famous when the southern summer
begins. From the moment the warm weather
arrives it attracts the Brazilian and Argentinean
jet set, who liven up its beaches, streets, elegant
shops and parties, which end at daybreak. The peo-
ple vie in elegance and wear the finest clothing,
drive the most sophisticated cars and show off
eye-catching jewelry. Gorlero Street, swathed in
neon and sophisticated store windows, beats to
the rhythm of the beautiful women who walk by
and show off their spectacular tan bodies while the
men show off their Porsches or BMWs. The restau-
rants of the Rambla Argentina are lively and dazzle
with the melody of the voices and the Amura team
participated in the private parties that take place
in the elegant mansions that are located at the
edge of the sea or hidden among the pine trees.
