Besides bringing our world to us, nature pho-
tographyhasbeenaveryvaluable tool for thestudy
of the species, enabling thework of scientists dedi-
cated to their conservation. Many of these scien-
tists have become great photographers. In México,
nature photography has not found the appropriate
spaces for its distribution since there is not a single
publication dedicated exclusively to this branch of
photography. Although our country is one the four
in the world with the greatest biodiversity, there
are very few Mexican nature photographers.
Fortunately, there are some publications, above all,
the tourism press, that have allocated space like
this to be able to appreciate the great diversity of
species and landscapes that our Republic offers.
Here is a sample of the photographic work dedicat-
ed toMexico and its natural wonders.

ralista ha sido una herramienta muy valiosa para el
estudio de las especies, facilitando el trabajo de cien-
tíficos dedicados a su conservación. Y en muchos
casos estos científicos se han convertido en grandes
fotógrafos. En México la fotografía naturalista aún
no ha encontrado los espacios adecuados para su
difusión, ya que no se cuenta con una sola publica-
ción dedicada exclusivamente a esta rama de la foto-
grafía. A pesar de que nuestro país es uno de los
cuatro con mayor biodiversidad en el mundo, no son
muchos los fotógrafos mexicanos que se dedican a
ello. Afortunadamente hay algunas publicaciones,
sobre todo de corte turístico, que han abierto espa-
cios como éste para poder apreciar la gran diversidad
de especies y paisajes que nuestra República ofrece.
