Caminamos por la famosa Gran Vía, esa famosa avenida
construida entre 1910 y 1930 delimitada por hermosos
edificios y que vibraba antiguamente con sus teatros y
restaurantes. Nos detuvimos en el famoso El Tigre, un
bar de tapas y cañas (calle Infantas 30) y degustamos
el chorizo al infierno, las patatas asadas, las croquetas,
la tortilla, el jamón serrano. El ambiente de voces altas,
risas y empujones, de olor a chorizo y paella llenaba el
lugar, una verdadera inmersión en el auténtico Madrid.
Pasamos la plaza de Cibeles para admirar la hermosa
fuente que fue construida en 1782 y que representa a
la diosa Cibeles, símbolo de la tierra, agricultura y fe-
cundidad, sobre un carro tirado por leones. Reina sobre
la plaza delimitada por los elegantes edificios del Pala-
cio de Buenavista, Palacio de Linares, Palacio de Comu-
nicaciones y el Banco de España.
Seguimos por el Paseo del Prado y visitamos el
museo Thyssen-Bornemisza para admirar la colección
permanente que es un verdadero recorrido por el arte,
desde el siglo XIII hasta las postrimerías del siglo XX,
con mil obras expuestas.

We walked through the Gran Vía, this famous avenue
was built between 1910 and 1930 enclosed by beauti-
ful buildings and vibrating city with its theaters and
restaurants.We stopped at the famous El Tigre, a tapas
bar and rods (street Infantas 30) andwe tasted the hell
sausage, baked potatoes, croquettes, tortilla, and ser-
rano ham. The atmosphere of loud voices, laughter
and shoving, the smell of sausage and paella filled the
place, a real immersion in the authentic Madrid. We
passed through Cibeles Square to admire the beauti-
ful fountain that was built in 1782 and represents the
goddess Cybele, the symbol of the land, agriculture
and fertility, on a chariot pulled by lions, amonument
that reigns over the square bounded by the elegant
buildings of the Palace of Buenavista, Linares Palace,
Palace of Communications and Bank of Spain.
We continued to the Paseo del Prado and visited the
Thyssen-Bornemisza to admire Museum’s permanent
collection, in a tour through the art fromthe thirteenth
century until the late twentieth century, with a thou-
sandworks as part of the exhibition.
