T
he Ferrari 458 Italia is a massive leap forward
from the company’s previous mid-rear engined
sports cars. The new model is a synthesis of
style, creative flair, passion and cutting-edge techno-
logy, characteristics for which Italy as a nation is well-
known. For this reason, Ferrari chose to add the name
of its homeland to the traditional figure representing
the displacement and number of cylinders.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is a completely new car
from every point of view: engine, design, aerodyna-
mics, handling, instrumentation and ergonomics,
just to name a few. A two-seater berlinetta, the
Ferrari 458 Italia, benefits hugely from the com-
pany’s Formula 1 experience.
This is particularly evident in the speed and pre-
cision with which the car responds to driver inputs
and in the attention focused on reducing internal
friction in the engine for lower fuel consumption,
despite the fact that both overall displacement and
power have increased.

l Ferrari 458 Italia es un salto hacia adelantemasivo
para el previo coche deportivo de motor mediado de
posterior de la compañía. Este nuevomodelo es una
síntesis de estilo, muestra creativa, pasión e innovación
tecnológica, características por las cuales Italia como
nación es bien conocida. Por esta razón, Ferrari eligió aña-
dir el nombre de su lugar de origen a la tradicional figura
representando el desplazamiento y número de cilindros.
El Ferrari 458 Italia es un auto completamente nuevo
desde cualquier punto de vista: ingeniería, diseño, aero-
dinámica, manejo, instrumentación y ergonomía, sólo
para nombrar algunos. Un berlinetta de dos asientos, el
Ferrari 458 Italia se beneficia enormemente por la expe-
riencia de la compañía con Fórmula 1.
Esto es especialmente evidente en la velocidad y pre-
cisión con la que el auto le responde a las órdenes del
conductor y a la atención enfocada en reducir la fricción
interna en el motor para un menor consumo de combus-
tible, a pesar del hecho que en total el desplazamiento y
el poder han aumentado.
