El Arco del fin de la Tierra
Creado por la fuerza erosiva del viento oceánico, esta
magnífica formación rocosa en forma de arco es el em-
blema de Los Cabos, justo en el lugar donde se encuen-
tran el Océano Pacífico y el Mar de Cortés. Esta área es
accesible sólo por barco, y muchos tours y compañías
charteras ofrecen viajes para disfrutarlo de cerca. Es un
punto obligado para cualquiera que visite Los Cabos.
Avistamiento de ballenas
La punta de la Península de Baja California brinda una de
las mejores oportunidades en el mundo para tener un
acercamiento con las ballenas grises. Después de reco-
rrer más de 9,500 km, desde el Pacífico Norte, las balle-
nas grises llegan a la Península de Baja California,
generalmente entre diciembre y marzo, para dar a luz y
amamantar a sus crías en las seguras aguas de las tran-
quilas lagunas del área. Una de las más impresionantes
imágenes de esta excursión es ver una ballena adulta sal-
tando y jugando con sus ballenatos. Las curiosas crías se

nes, los espectadores pueden tocarlas.
Buceo y snorkel
No importa si eres un buzo entusiasta o un principiante,
algunos de los mejores lugares para bucear están a me-
nos de 20 minutos en auto. El Mar de Cortés ofrece
oportunidades sin igual para apreciar de cerca algunas
de las especies de animales marinos más exuberantes
del mundo, tales como las mantarrayas gigantes, los ti-
burones ballena, tiburones martillo y numerosos cardú-

Created by the erosive force of the oceanic winds,
this magnificent rock formation in the shape of an
arch is the symbol of Los Cabos and is right at the
place where the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez meet.
The area is only accessible by boat and many tour
and charter companies offer trips there so that you
can see if up close. It is a must see sight for everyone
visiting Los Cabos.
Whale Watching
The tip of the Baja California peninsula offers the
world’s best opportunities to get close to a gray
whale. After traveling more than 9,500 km (5,903 mi)
from the North Pacific, gray whales reach the Baja
California peninsula, generally between December
and March, to give birth and feed their calves in the
sheltered waters of the peaceful lagoons in the area.
One of the most impressive sights on this tour is
seeing an adult whale breaching and playing with her
calf. The curious babies frequently approach the boats
and, sometimes, spectators can touch them.
Diving and Snorkeling
It really is not important if you are an experienced,
enthusiastic diver or a beginner, some of the best
places to dive or snorkel are less than a 20-minute
drive away. The Sea of Cortez offers unique opportu-
nities in which to appreciate, up close, some of the
most exuberant species of marine animals such as
giant manta rays, whale sharks and lots of schools of
porpoises. Many species found in the Sea of Cortez are
