Complicación:
Toda función del reloj más allá de in-
dicar las horas, minutos y segundos. La primera y más
sencilla de todas es el fechador.
Escape:
Mecanismo que mantiene las oscilaciones
del volante. La rueda de escape.
Gran sonería:
Mecanismo de campanillas que auto-
máticamente indica las horas y cualquiera de sus cuartos
a voluntad, según se le requiera.
Incabloc:
Sistema de protección contra impactos
en el eje del volante mediante un pequeño muelle
sobre el rubí.
Joyas:
Cuando se habla del mecanismo se refiere a
los rubíes que funcionan como superficies de rotación
para los diversos ejes de un reloj.
Muelle maestro:
Espiral a manera de resorte que
al comprimirse proporciona la energía para que el
reloj funcione.
Oscilaciones:
Número de movimientos de vaivén
que realiza el volante, cuanto mayor sea éste mayor
será la precisión del reloj.
Platina:
También conocida como placa de base, es
la pieza donde se alojan la mayoría de los componen-
tes mecánicos.

Mainspring:
Spiral which, when compressed,
provides the energy that the watch needs to function.
Oscillations:
The number of back and forthmove-
ments of the wheel. The more there are the more pre-
cise the watch is.
Plate:
Also known as the base plate, this is where
most of the mechanical components are located.
