se diseña para contrarrestar los efectos de la grave-
dad y de otras fuerzas de perturbación que pueden
afectar la exactitud de un cronómetro. Esto es logra-
do gracias a que áncora, rueda de escape y volante se
encuentran alojados en la jaula móvil, montada sobre
el eje de la rueda de segundos.
Su armazón mide 14,8 mm de diámetro y pesa
tan solo 0,32 gramos, sin incluir el volante.
Éste realiza cinco semioscilaciones por segundo,
cubriendo su borde exterior un recorrido equivalente
a 12,2 kilómetros por hora. O lo que es lo mismo, más
de dos veces y media el perímetro terrestre en un
solo año.
Los 17 rubíes del mecanismo, realizado en alpa-
ca, hacen de este reloj un instrumento de presión
único. En la rueda de minutos y en la pequeña inter-
media, las piedras de cojinetes están montadas en
engastes de oro atornillados.
El mecanismo de platino, con un espesor aproxi-
mado de seis milímetros, tiene una reserva de mar-
cha de 40 horas. La caja de oro rosado de 18 quilates
mantiene las piezas firmemente unidas: asiento,
muelle real, volante y áncora, ruedas y pistones, pie-
dras de cojinete, tornillos, para ofrecer una pieza de
gran exactitud, mientras que la esfera está decorada
con el emblema de Maybach.
Por su parte, lasmanecillas de Breguet y el extremo
del segundero son de oro y la correa es de piel de coco-
drilo con hebilla de oro rosado de 18 quilates.

forces that may affect the accuracy of a chronograph.
This effect is achieved because the anchor, escapement
and flywheel are housed in a rotating frame mounted
on the axle of the secondhand wheel.
The delicate cage takes a minute to make a com-
plete turn; therefore, unlike conventional watches, in
which the escape is fixed, the variations arising from
the vertical position and the effect of gravity are com-
pensated.
Its frame measures 14.8 mm in diameter and
weighs just 0.32 grams excluding the flywheel.
The timepiece makes five semi-alterations per sec-
ond, covering an equivalent of 12.2km/h at its outset
edge, ormore than two and of times the earth’s perimeter
in a single year . The 17 rubies of the nickel silver mecha-
nismmake this watch a unique precision instrument. In
the minute wheel and a small intermediate wheel, bear-
ing stones are mounted on screwed gold settings.
The entire platinum mechanism with an approxi-
mate thickness of 6mmhas a reserve windup time of 40
hours. The 18-carat pink gold case keeps the pieces firm-
ly united: seating, leaf spring, flywheel and anchor,
wheels and rods, bearing stones, screws to offer a highly
accurate timepiece, whereas the dial bears the Maybach
emblem.
Moreover, the Breguet hands and the tip of the sec-
ondhand are made of gold and the strap is made of alli-
gator skin with an 18-carat pink gold clasp.
