l Festival Internacional de Cine de Vene-
cia fue el primero de todos. Inaugurado en
1932 marcó el punto de partida para los
demás festivales de gran nombre, como el
de Cannes o San Sebastián. Forma parte
de la Bienal de Venecia, uno de los órganos culturales
más importantes del mundo, que cuenta con archivos
inmensos de arte, en donde encontramos grandes tra-
bajos de pintura, literatura, fotografía y cine.
La edición de este año contó con un jurado confor-
mado por Joan Chen, Philip Gröning, Jessica Hausner,
Jhumpa Lahiri, Sandy Powell, Tim Roth, Elia Suleiman
and Carlo Verdone. Entre las obras premiadas están En
duva satt på en gren och funderade på tillvaron (Una
paloma se sentó en una rama a reflexionar sobre la
existencia) de Roy Andersson (Suecia, Alemania, No-
ruega, Francia), la cual se llevó el León de Oro a la Mejor
Película; Belye Nochi Pochtalona Alekseya Tryapitsyna
(Las noches blancas del cartero) de Andrej Koncalovskij
(Rusia), reconocida con el León de Plata al Mejor Direc-
tor; la Coppa Volpi al Mejor Actor se la dio el jurado a
Adam Driver por Hungry Hearts, de Saverio Costanzo
(Italia) y a la Mejor Actriz fue para Alba Rohrwacher,
también por Hungry Hearts.

he Venice International Movie Festi-
val was the first of all. It began in 1932
and it marked the starting point for all
other big name festivals, like Cannes
or San Sebastián. It is part of the Bien-
nale of Venice, one of the most important cultural
organizations of the world, and has huge archives
of art, where we can find great works of painting,
literature, photography and cinema.
This year’s edition has as jury conformed by Joan
Chen, PhilipGröning, JessicaHausner, Jhumpa Lahiri,
Sandy Powell, TimRoth, Elia Suleiman and Carlo Ver-
done. Amongst the works that earned a prize are En
duva satt på en gren och funderade på tillvaron (A
dove sat on a branch to reflect on existence), of Roy
Andersson (Sweden, Germany, Norway, France), that
earned the Gold Lion to the Best Movie; Belye Nochi
Pochtalona Alekseya Tryapitsyna (The white nights
of the Mailman) of Andrej Koncalovskij (Russia), rec-
ognized with the Silver Lion to the Best Director; the
Coppa Volpi to the Best Actor, the jury gave to Adam
Driver for Hungry Hearts, by Saverio Constanzo (It-
aly) and the Best Actress recognition went to Alba
Rohrwacher, also for Hungry Hearts.
