Desde aquel tiempo, el Palacio de invierno ha ser-
vido como el museo Hermitage. Su arquitectura lo
convierte en sitio de revelaciones: paredes cúpu-
las, la complejidad de sus interiores, sus 30 salas
destinadas a la exhibición y sus colecciones, dos
millones y medio de objetos culturales y artísticos
de los pueblos de Europa y Oriente desde los tiem-
pos más remotos hasta el siglo XX lo convierten en
sitio indispensable de la cultura universal.
Es un museo imprescindible para los sensibles
a las artes visuales. Representa un acervo de tres
millones de obras no sólo de creadores rusos de las
distintas épocas históricas sino de toda Europa.

Since that time, the Winter Palace has served as
the Ermitage Museum. Its architecture makes it
site of revelations: walls domes, the complexity of
its interiors, its 30 rooms designed for display and
their collections, two and a half million of cultural
and artistic objects of the peoples of Europe and
the Middle East from the earliest times until the
20th century makes it indispensable site of uni-
versal culture.
It is an indispensable Museum for the sensitive
to the Visual Arts. Represents a collection of three
million works not only of Russian creators of differ-
ent historical epochs, but throughout Europe.
