La travesía del Palacio de Invierno
El edificio construido en el corazón de San Peters-
burgo, entre el malecón del río Neva y la Plaza del
Palacio, fue la residencia de invierno para cada jefe
de Rusia, desde Pedro III. Con Catalina la Grande se
inició el valioso acopio de su acervo de arte visual,
y recibió una donación de 225 obras.
Alexandra, esposa de Nicolás I, avanzó en la
decoración e incremento de la colección. Con la
revolución de 1905 fue más lejos en cuanto a la
decoración. Se convirtió en el lugar de encuentros
en el gobierno provisional de Kerensky en 1905.
Con la URSS, el gobierno mudó su sede a Moscú.

the crossing of the Winter Palace
The building built in the heart of Petersburgo, be-
tween the waterfront of the river Neva and the Pal-
ace Square, was the winter residence for each head
of Russia, from Pedro III. With Catherine the great
began the valuable accumulation of its collection of
visual art, and received a donation of 225 works.
Alexandra, wife of Nicolás I, advanced decoration
and increased the collection. With the revolution of
