orn at the end of the fifties with
the aim of proposing a diving
clock whose size also would be ap-
propriate for everyday use, the
Bathyscaphe was reinterpreted by
Blancpain in 2013. This timekeeper is both use-
ful underwater as well as in the city, enriched
with a new movement F385 automatic with
flyback chronograph.
This model Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe inte-
grates a new caliber of 13 manufacturing lines
that pulsates with a frequency of 36,000 alterna-
tions per hour. Equipped with a chronograph me-
chanism ordered by a wheel of pillars and a ver-
tical clutch. It has flyback function which allows
with a simple pressure on the push button loca-
ted at 4 hours, the stop, reset and new launch of
the chronograph.
This device is extremely useful when you need
to measure quickly successive periods of time.
On the other hand, the chronograph sealed pus-
hbuttons allow the underwater use up to 300 me-
ters depth, without running the risk of damage the
clock. This model also emphasized by the presence
of a fund of sapphire crystal, which is possible due
to a spiral of silicon, whose anti-magnetic proper-
ties ignore the Faraday cage. The total transpa-
rency of the glass allows to appreciate the osci-
llations of the mass of 18-carat gold coated with
NAC (an alloy of platinum) and carved with the logo
of Blancpain.
At the same time it retains the technical cha-
racteristics of the collection Fifty Fathoms, the
Bathyscaphe adopts the aesthetic codes of the
original model. The black dial domed doesn’t ca-
rry digits: instead it shows strokes and tips to rate
mode, while the date is visible through a window
located at 4 hours.

cuenta con el objetivo de proponer
un reloj de buceo, cuya talla también
fuera adecuada para el uso cotidiano,
el Bathyscaphe fue reinterpretado por
Blancpain en 2013. Este guardatiempos, que se lle-
va tanto bajo el agua como en la ciudad, se enrique-
ce este año con un nuevo movimiento F385 de carga
automática equipado con un cronógrafo flyback.
El modelo Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe integra un
nuevo calibre de manufactura de 13 líneas que palpita
con una frecuencia de 36,000 alternancias por hora.
Está dotado de unmecanismo de cronógrafo ordenado
por una rueda depilares yunembraguevertical. Dispo-
ne de una función “vuelta al vuelo” o flyback, que per-
mite ordenar con una simple presión sobre el pulsador
situado las4horas, laparada, lapuestaenceroy lanue-
va puesta enmarcha del cronógrafo.
Este dispositivo resulta extremadamente útil
cuando hay quemedir rápidamente lapsos de tiempo
sucesivos. Por otro lado, los pulsadores herméticos
del cronógrafo permiten su uso bajo el agua hasta
300 metros de profundidad sin correr el riesgo de
dañar el reloj. Este modelo destaca también por la
presencia de un fondo de cristal de zafiro, el que es
posible gracias al uso de una espiral de silicio, cuyas
propiedades antimagnéticas permiten pasar por alto
la jaula de Faraday. La total transparencia del cristal
permite apreciar las oscilaciones de lamasa de oro de
18 quilates revestida de NAC (una aleación de plati-
no) y esculpida con el logotipo de Blancpain.
Al tiempo que conserva las características téc-
nicas de la colección Fifty Fathoms, el Bathyscaphe
adopta los códigos estéticos del modelo original. La
esfera negra abombada no lleva dígitos: en su lugar
luce trazos y puntas a modo de índices, mientras la
fecha se hace visible a través de una ventanilla si-
tuada a las 4 horas.
