would see and photograph feared bull sharks being
hand fed by local divers.
When we arrived at the beach we were met by José
(Pepe) Dieppa, who would be our guide during the fol-
lowing days. He is famous, both in the island and
abroad, because of his great passion for the sea.
Our introductory dive took place in a beautiful
spot where we enjoyed the presence of countless fish
of many colors as well as a great amount of both hard
and soft coral that fluidly danced in the soft rhythm
of the tides. On the walls of the abyss we saw prized
black coral and an enormous school of cubera snap-
per, difficult to find in other parts of the world.
Time went by swiftly and when we emerged the
sunwas starting to descend. We could not wait to dive
again since nowwe had the promise of seeing, in their
natural habitat, impressive bull sharks, the main rea-
son that we were in this far away place.

Al llegar a la mencionada playa ya nos esperaba el que
fue nuestro guía en los días siguientes, José Dieppa, uno de
los hombres más reconocidos en su país y en el extranjero
por su gran pasión por el mar.
Nuestro buceo de familiarización se llevó a cabo en un lu-
gar bellísimo, donde pudimos disfrutar de la presencia de in-
numerables peces de colores y de gran cantidad de corales,
tanto duros como blandos, que bailaban al suave ritmo de las
mareas. En las paredes abismales pudimos apreciar al codi-
ciado coral negro y a una enorme escuela de pargos cuberas,
que es difícil encontrar en otras partes del mundo.
El tiempo pasó rápidamente y cuando salimos el astro rey
comenzaba a ocultarse. No podíamos aguantarnos las ganas de
volver a sumergirnos, pues ahora teníamos la promesa de ver
en su estado natural a los imponentes tiburones toro, principal
motivo por el que nos encontrábamos en este lejano lugar.
