Para ti, ¿el arte tiene un fin en sí?
Veo el arte como el nivel más alto de comunicación y
creo que toda comunicación debe darse con la inten-
ción de crear un efecto, particularmente un impacto
emocional. Si una pintura te hizo reflexionar o un libro
te cambió la vida, eso lo considero arte y el fin es el que
el artista se proponga. Cuando una idea brillante es
acompañada por el suficiente nivel técnico, habilidad y
pasión, nos encontramos frente a un buen artista.
¿Cómo ves el panorama de la pintura
enMéxico?
Como en todo, hay que ser perseverante, firme en tus
metas, trabajar duro y con pasión; hay que ver las co-
sas desde tu propio punto de vista y no desde la pers-
pectiva del amigo o del crítico de arte que intentará
invalidarte, el cual, muchas veces es un artista frus-
trado. En México hay artistas muy buenos y no sólo en
la pintura, así como también existe mucha gente que
aprecia el arte y está dispuesta a pagar por él.
¿Cómo convive la pintura con los
nuevos medios?
Las herramientas actuales son las mejores que se han
tenido para mostrar el arte a todo el mundo. Internet
es la galería más grande del planeta, es la sala de con-
ciertos y de cine más visitada y eso es de gran utilidad
para los artistas. Aunque en lo que respecta a la pin-
tura, nunca será lo mismo ver una obra en vivo, existe
la textura y hay creaciones con una energía cuya to-
talidad sólo se capta al estar de frente a ella; lo cierto
es que internet juega el papel que tuvieron los libros
de arte en su tiempo: dar a conocer al mundo la obra
de un artista y hablar sobre la experiencia que sería al
tenerla enfrente y eso es muy valioso. Mientras más
alcance se tenga será mejor; además, hoy es más fácil
contactar a los artistas por las redes sociales.

For you, does art have an end in
itself?
I see art as a higher level of communication and I believe
that communication should be achieved with the inten-
tion of creating an effect, particularly an emotional im-
pact. If as painting has made you reflect on something,
or a book has changed your life, that is considered art;
it’s the purpose the artist wants to portray. When a bril-
liant idea is accompanied by a technical, ability and pas-
sion, we are encountered with a good artist.
How do you see the artistry in
Mexico?
Like all, you must persevere, be firm with your
goals, work hard and with passion; we must see
things from a different point of view and not from
the perspective of a friend of an art critique that
will try to crush you. In Mexico there are great art-
ists and not only in painting, several people appre-
ciate art and and is willing to pay for it.
How does this type of movement

The current tools are pretty actual, they are the best
that have existed to display art to the world. Inter-
net is the greatest gallery of the planet, even concert
halls and cinema rooms are of great utility for artists.
When it comes to painting, it will never be the same
as watching the masterpiece up close; some creations
have a special energy whose totality is captured by be-
ing in front of it; the truth is that internet does plays
the same role as Art Books, in their time: they served
the purpose to expose the artist to the world and to
speak of the experience of having it in front of you, that
is truly valuable. The more range you have, the better;
besides, today ismuchmore easy to contact the artists
and upload them on social media.
