Por último, la casa alemana Schwind lanzó al mercado
su equipo Amaris de 7a. generación, siendo Omnilaser la
primera clínica enMéxico coneste equipoque esmás rápido
que equipos de generaciones anteriores incluyendo al Esiris,
ysus características como ladoble fluencia, el control termal
y otrasmás permiten unmejor resultado en la cirugía y una
recuperaciónmuchomejorymásrápidaparaelpaciente.
Pregunta: ¿Qué técnicas existen para corregir la
vista con equipos éxcimer láser? La más utilizada fue
la técnica LASIK en la que se hace cortando un flap o
colgajo para poder disparar el rayo láser con el tejido
corneal y corregir así el defecto de refracción. Pero
había pacientes que tenían córneas delgadas o planas
que dificultaban la aplicación de la técnica LASIK, a
estos pacientes se les operaba con técnica LASEK, pero
para realizar esta técnica era necesario que el médico,
a cálculo, revolviera algunos líquidos corrosivos que
derritieran el epitelio corneal y también a cálculo del
médico se dejaba este líquido en contacto del ojo para
que derritiera el epitelio corneal.
VISUMAX
Y en la actualidad la técnicamásmoderna es la denominada
RelexSmilequesólosepuederealizarconelequipoVisuMax.
Esta técnica corrige la córnea de manera interna y por una
incisióndemenosdecuatromilímetrosseextraelacorrección
de la córnea. Esta técnica evita la presencia de ojo seco
ocasionado por el corte o remoción del epitelio corneal, pero
repetimos esto sólo se puede hacer con el equipoVisuMaxy
Omnilaser nuevamente ha sido la primera clínica privada en
Méxicoencontarconesteavanzadoequipoláser.
Pregunta: ¿Cómo podría resumir todo lo anterior?
Muy sencillo, la técnica más moderna es Relex Smile
y sólo puede hacerse con VisuMax y no hay forma de
hacer que un equipo Esiris se iguale a un Amaris de 7a.
generación.

German firm Shwind recently launched its 7th
generation Amaris. Omnilaser is the first clinic in
Mexico to have this equipment, which is leaps and
bounds ahead of any other equipment, including
the Esiris. And its features, mentioned before,
ensure better results during surgery and a much
faster recovery for patients.
Question: What techniques are there to
correct visual defects with excimer lasers?
The most frequently used technique is LASIK,
which consists of cutting a flap to fire the
laser into the corneal tissue thus correcting
any refraction defects. But some patients had
corneas that were too thin or flat, making
application of LASIK technique difficult. These
patients underwent the LASEK technique, but
it required the doctor to mix some corrosive
liquids that get rid the corneal epithelium. This
liquid was carefully put into the eye to dissolve
the corneal epithelium.
VISUMAX
The latest technique is called Relex Smile, which can
onlybedoneonVisuMax.Thistechniquecorrectsthe
cornea internally. The corrected cornea is extracted
through a 4mm cut. This technique does not cause
the dryness of the eyes caused by the removal of
the corneal epithelium, but as we said before, it can
only be done with a VisuMax. Omnilaser is the first
private clinic in Mexico to have this advanced laser
technology.
Question: How could you summarize all of the
above?
Pretty easily: the latest technique is Relex Smile,
which can only be done on a VisuMax; and an Esiris
doesn’t come close to a 7th generation Amaris.
