Bután es un país profundamente involucrado en la

conservación de toda especie dentro de su territorio, y

forma parte del área de conservación del Himalaya Oc-

cidental. En un esfuerzo de preservar al tigre, Bután y el

resto de los 13 países con tigres en estado silvestre en el

mundo, en colaboración con la Iniciativa Global del Tigre

del Banco Mundial, propusieron establecer un sistema

para restaurar los números en la población de tigres en

libertad fomentando conciencia en el público y disminu-

yendo las amenazas que resultan en la degradación del

hábitat. También buscan expandir la protección en contra

de los cazadores clandestinos.

El tigre de bengala habita algunas de las áreas prote-

gidas de Bután como el Parque Nacional Real de Mana y el

Parque nacional Jigme Dorji, los cuales ofrecen las condi-

ciones perfectas para que la especie prospere.

Bhutan is a country deeply involved in the con-

servation of every species in its territory, and is part

of the conservation area of the Eastern Himalayas.

In an effort to preserve the Bengal, Bhutan and the

rest of the 13 Tiger Range States—the only 13 coun-

tries with wild tigers in the world—in collaboration

with the World Bank’s Global Tiger Initiative, pro-

posed to establish a system that would restore tiger

numbers in the wild by raising awareness to the

public and diminishing threats that result in deg-

radation of habitat, as well as expanding protection

against poachers.

The Bengal tiger inhabits some of Bhutan’s pro-

tected areas like the Royal Manas National Park and

Jigme Dorji National Park, which provide fit condi-

tions for the thriving of the species.
