l Parque Nacional Jigme Dorji
Wangchuck
–nombrado así en ho-
nor al tercer rey dragón de Bután–
constituye el área protegida más
extensa del reino, con 4,349 km
2
de superficie. Es el mayor tesoro
biológico de la zona oriental del
Himalaya. Su territorio varía entre
los 1,000 m hasta los 7,100 m sobre el nivel del mar, lo
que favorece la vasta diversidad topográfica de uno de
los ecosistemas más elevados del mundo, donde des-
tacan las cumbres sagradas Jomolhari, Tsherimgang y
Jitchu Drake.

chuck Park—named as such in
honor of the third dragon king of
Bhutan—encompasses the most
extensive territory in the king-
dom, with a total area of 4,349
km
2
. It is the largest biological
treasure of the eastern Himalayas. Its territory
varies between 1,000 m to 7,000 m above sea level,
which favors the vast topographical diversity of
one of the highest ecosystems in the world, where
the sacred peaks of Jomolhari, Tsherimgang and
Jitchu Drake stand out.
