Uno de los lugares que mejor evidencian el vulca-
nismo es Snæfellsnes, con su mítico Snæfellsjökull y su
parque nacional, enmarcado en un municipio de Turis-
mo Sostenible, certificado por el Green Globe 21.
Breidafjordur es el paraíso de los ornitólogos, y en
los Fiordos hay los tres mayores acantilados de aves de
Europa: el mayor es Látrabjarg, la última atalaya hacia el
oeste. El Oeste y Breidafjordur, bastante poblados des-
de la colonización, son el marco de muchas de las sagas
que extienden su acción hasta los Fiordos.
Otro lugar que merece una visita es Eiríkssta

Pesca y caza
Islandia es famosa por la pesca de la trucha y del

Fishing and Hunting
Iceland if famous for its trout and salmon fish-
ing. Themain season for salmon fishing is from June
20th until mid September. For trout fishing dates
vary from one river or Lake to the other, but the re-
gular season goes from the months of April-May un-
til late September and the beginning of October.
