Dirigiendo por otro lado un despacho de abogados,
el cual proporcionaba consejo legal a muchas personas
que de otro modo nunca hubiesen sido escuchados,
dándole cabida a su arresto el día 5 de diciembre del
año anteriormente mencionado. Tras 27 años de en-
carcelamiento y una Carrera por correspondencia en la
Universidad de Londres, el 5 de Febrero de 1990 Madi-
ba consigue la libertad, acompañado por sus colegas y
amigos también apresados en el pasado.

- “Ventisieteaños en la cárcel, me han enseñado, des-
de el silencio de la soledad, hasta qué punto las palabras
sonpreciosas yhastaquépuntoel lenguajeverdadero tie-
ne su impacto en la forma en que la gente vive ymuere.”
En esta entrevista, realizada en 1990, ante un perio-
dista atónito del NY Times, Nelson Mandela, explica que
sentir miedo hubiese sido un acto de traición al pueblo y
contra su conciencia. Permitir que el miedo y el impulso
de conservación dominasen su comportamiento, obli-
gándolo a participar en la lucha por la democracia y sus
derechos humanos, hubiese sido una contradicción a los
ideales forjados por revolucionarios pacifistas.
Con estas palabras gritadas al mundo, el prisio-
nero 466/64 de la Isla Robben, crea un movimiento
pacífico y solidario con su patria.
Quitando tabúes y propuestas de un sentimiento
arcaico, un funcionamiento que ya no le ayudaba al
país, y declarando estoicamente un punto de vista
que rebasaría generaciones, que llegaría hasta los
rincones del mundo, y movería sentimientos, logran-
do la prosperidad y felicidad de la gente.
On the side, he had a lawyer’s dispatch, in
which he proportioned legal aid of little econom-
ic retribution to the less fortunate. This led to his
arrest the 5th of December of the year mentioned.
During 27 years of imprisonment and a corre-
spondence study from the University of London,
the 5th of February of 1990, Madiba obtains lib-
erty along with his colleagues and friends, also
put under arrest on the same date.
- “Mr. Mandela, how have you known to use
words as a tool to obtain harmony in the country?”
- “ Twenty seven years in jail, have taught me,
from the silence of solitude, to what point words
are precious, and until what point language has a
true impact in the way people live and die.”
During this 1990 interview, before an astonished
NY Times interviewer, Nelson Mandela explains that
feeling fear would have been an act of treason to the
people and their conscious. Allowing fear and im-
pulse of conservancy, would have led him to partici-
pate in the armed struggle for democracy andhuman
rights, being a contradiction to his ideologies, forged
by revolutionary pacifists.
With these words shouted to the world, prisoner
466/64 of Robben Island, creates a pacific and soli-
darymovement for his homeland.
Crushing taboo and proposals of archaic senti-
ments, a function that didn’t help the country anymore
anddeclaringinanunmovablefashionhispointofview
whichwouldtranscenditsgeneration,thatwouldarrive
to all corners of the world and move feelings, creating
prosperityandhappiness for thepeople inAfrica.
