• The Fifth Avenue divides Manhattan into the east
and west sides. The numbers of the buildings in-
crease the further you go fromeast to west.
• In Manhattan, if you walk 20 blocks north or
south, you have walked a mile. The locals call
these blocks “short blocks” or “street blocks”
while the others that go from east to west are
called “long blocks” or “avenue blocks”.
• The best time to see the most NYC attractions
is Tuesday-Saturday. On weekends museums
start late and may not be open long. On Mon-
days and Sundays they may be closed or do not
have tours.
• Since New York is so vast, the best advice we
can give you is to be organized. Do not go to
bed before you plan what it is you wish to do
the next day, everything must have time and
no delays in order to have a full agenda in the
city that doesn’t sleep.
• If we talk about rent, this city has the highest
rates. A two bedroom apartment will be an av-
erage of $4,000 to $5,000 dollars. This numbers
obviously apply to the zone of Manhattan.
• It doesn’t matter if you are more or less a fan of
musicals or if your english isn’t so good, thruth
be told it is worth assisiting to the meca of the
great Broadway shows.
