The Roca Brothers and BBVA Bancomer
E
l Celler de Can Roca ubicado en Girona, Es-
paña, figura entre los mejores restauran-
tes del mundo, distinción que le valió ser
reconocido como el número uno en 2013,
conforme a la clasificación que realiza
anualmente la publicación Restaurant Magazine. Sus
propietarios, los hermanos Joan, Josep y Jordi Roca;
chef, sommelier y repostero, respectivamente, son
la tercera generación dedicada a esta industria. Entre
los ingredientes que utilizan cada día para mante-
nerse en la cumbre están el compromiso, la pasión,
la perseverancia y la innovación.
Su más reciente hazaña fue una gira sin prece-
dentes, por seis ciudades del continente americano:
Houston, Dallas, Monterrey, Ciudad de México, Bogo-
tá y Lima; durante la cual cerraron por cinco semanas
su restaurante sede. La finalidad fue, por un lado,
consentir a los clientes más distinguidos de BBVA
Bancomer, llevándoles lo mejor de la gastronomía,
y por otra parte, El Celler buscó hacer un homenaje
tanto a la cocina de las ciudades visitadas, como a su
historia; además de apoyar a los mejores estudiantes
de cocina de cada país.

nos Roca para conocer un poco más sobre ellos y la
experiencia de esta gira, en su paso por México.

he restaurant El Celler de Can Roca lo-
cated in Girona, Spain, appears among
the best restaurants in the world, a dis-
tinction for which it was recognized as
the number one in 2013, according to
the classification published annually by the Res-
taurant Magazine. Its owners, Joan, Josep and Jordi
Roca brothers; chef, sommelier and pastry chef,
respectively, are the third generation dedicated to
this industry. Among the ingredients they use ev-
ery day to stay on top are the commitment, passion,
the perseverance and innovation.
Their most recent feat was an unprecedented tour
to six cities of the American continent: Houston, Dal-
las, Monterrey, Mexico City, Bogota and Lima; during
which they had to close for five weeks their restaurant
in Girona. The purpose was, on one hand, to consent
the most distinguished customers from BBVA Ban-
comer, bringing them the best of gastronomy, and on
the other hand, El Celler de Can Roca sought to make
a tribute to both the kitchen of the cities visited, as
well as its history; in addition to supporting the best
culinary students from each country.

rience of this tour in its passage through Mexico.
