La revitalización de la ciudad en el siglo XIX, con
la industrialización y el desarrollo de la red ferroviaria
española, coincidieron con la Época Romántica.
Durante el siglo XX, además de la trágica Guerra Ci-
vil, presenció hitos decisivos como la Exposición Ibero-
americana de 1929, la ExposiciónUniversal de 1992 o su
elección como capital de la autonomía andaluza.
Es por esto y por la riqueza de su gente, que cuan-
do se emprende una visita a esta región y principal-
mente en Sevilla, uno se rodea de colores, olores y
esencias de todo tipo, una mezcla entre lo barroco y
lo marroquí, con una cubierta española.
Este recorrido zarpa de las orillas del río Guadal-
quivir, que a lo largo de sus riberas conviven reme-
ros que preparan sus regatas, turistas, gitanos que
han construido sus chabolas en el borde de su cauce;
practicantes de esquí acuático acrobático o pescado-
res de anguilas, quienes se quejan de lo mal pagado
que está este oficio tan difícil.

ry with the industrialization and the development
of the Spanish railway network, coincidentally in
the Romanticism.
During the 20th century, aside from the tragic Civil
War, therewere decisive events like the Iberoamericana
Expo in 1929, the Universal Expo in 1992 and the elec-
tionofSevilleascapitaloftheAndalucianAutonomy.
It’s because of these reasons and for its people,
that when a visit is planned to this region, especia-
lly to Seville, you are surrounded by colors, smells
and essences of all kinds, amixture between the ba-
roque and the Moroccan, with a Spanish cover.
This journey sets sail at the shores of the Gua-
dalquivir River, that along its shoreline has pa-
ddlers getting ready for their regattas, tourists,
gypsies that have built their homes on the shore,
acrobatic water skiers and eel fishers; who com-
plain about how underpaid their business is.
