El principal orgullo de los productores de ginebras es
el número de botánicos que intervienen en su elabora-
ción, originariamente entre cinco a seis; no obstante en
la actualidad, algunas poseen hasta veinte ingredientes.
Por botánico debemos entender a las distintas plantas,
hierbas, especias y frutas que realizan su maceración
con alcohol neutro al cual ceden sus aromas, y en el que
es imprescindible la composición de bayas de enebro, de
carácter resinoso.
El Gin Tónic, es seguramente uno de los cocte-
les más populares, debido a su elaboración e ingre-
dientes básicos. Su nacimiento no habría podido ser
posible sin el alemán Jacob Schweppes, a quien se le
ocurrió añadir quinina en la soda. Hoy, el Gin Tónic ha
resurgido como una de las bebidas más modernas y
espectaculares de los diferentes bares del mundo. Ac-
tualmente, lasmejores tónicas son las que despuntan
en sabores y aromas cítricos, por ejemplo: Fever Tree,
1724 y Fentimans, entre otras.

The main pride of gin producers is the num-
ber of botanists involved in its preparation,
originally from five to six; however in these
days, some have up to twenty ingredients. By bo-
tanical means the different plants, herbs, spices
and fruits that perform maceration with neutral
alcohol which transfer their bouquet, and where
the composition of juniper berries with resinous
character is essential.
Gin Tonic, is surely one of the most popular
cocktails, due to its preparation and basic ingre-
dients. His birth would not have been possible
without the German Jacob Schweppes, who is
thought to add quinine in soda. Today, Gin Ton-
ic has emerged as one of the most modern and
spectacular beverages of many bars in the world.
At the present time, the best tonics are the
ones that blunt in citrus flavors and fragances.
