Villa sin par
Una ciudad mediterránea hecha de historia, luz y co-
lor; de aromas marinos, fragancias de huerta, pólvora

Andar por sus calles se convierte en una expe-
riencia sonora, pues el tañido de las campanas de
la Catedral de Valencia, consagrada en el año 1238
por el rey Jaime I, el Conquistador, bajo la advoca-
ción de “Nostra Dona Santa María”, marca el pul-
so vital de la metrópoli. Entre todas, hay una que
sobresale por su especial bordoneo, se trata de la
campana de El Miguelete o Torre del Micalet, cuyo
repique envuelve el ambiente en pleno corazón de
la ciudad, junto a la plaza de la Reina de donde par-
te la visita a esta hermosa ciudad. Sorprendente
y privilegiada, pocos núcleos urbanos pueden pre-
sumir de estar rodeados de huertos bañados por
las cálidas aguas del Mediterráneo y junto a un
parque natural como La Albufera. Sin duda, el eje
noble de Valencia es la elegante calle de los Caba-
lleros, que hoy se llena de contrastes, al fusionar
el refinamiento de sus palacios con el ambiente
vanguardista de sus tiendas y la vida nocturna del
Barrio del Carmen.

ence, for the ringing of the bells of the Cathedral
of Valencia, consecrated in 1238 by the King James
I, the Conqueror, under the name of “Nostra Dona
Santa María”, mark the vital pulse of the metropolis.

its special strumming, it is the bell of El Miguelete or
the Torre del Micalet (the Tower of the Micalet), being
