The travellers who ar-
rive at this young re-
public, which emerges
from one of the most
ancient nations on
the planet, become
instantly hooked by a
mutual feeling shared
by all of humanity, one
which originated in
these lands, millions of
years ago, at the dawn
of our history.
It is said that that during the universal del-
uge, Noah’s Arc finally touched ground in the
Najichevan region, an autonomous territory in
Azerbaijan, where, currently, a mausoleum keeps
his remain. In theory, humanity was reborn in
this location. Also mentioned is that Azerbaijani
lands where the birthplace of Zoroaster (Zara-
thustra), and there is historical evidence that his
doctrine--Zoroastrianism-- was established in
these lands, which can be attested by the numer-
ous fire temples erected across the country. Sci-
entific theories suppose that Odin--the father of
the Viking nation--came from the East, between
the Caucus Mountains and the Black Sea. Marco
Polo, in his amazing tales, referred to this lands
as a place where fountains would discharge a
“black oil” (petroleum) instead of water. The Nor-
wegian biologist and researcher Thor Heyerdahl
expressed it thus: “Oral tradition or fairytale?
Where science ends, imagination begins.”

Se dice que durante el diluvio universal, el arca
de Noé toco tierra finalmente en la región de Naji-
cheván, territorio autónomo de Azerbaiyán, donde
actualmente se encuentra el mausoleo en el que se
cree yacieron sus restos, de manera entonces que, de
acuerdo a esta teoría allí renació la humanidad. Tam-
bién se menciona que fue en tierra azerbaiyana donde
nació Zoroastro (Zaratustra) y hay evidencias históri-
cas de que en este lugar se estableció su doctrina - el
zoroastrismo- de lo cual ha quedado testimonio a tra-
vés de cuantiosos templos del fuego erigidos por todo
el país. Teorías científicas suponen que Odín -Dios de
los vikingos- provino del Este, entre las montañas del
Cáucaso y el Mar Negro. Marco Polo en sus asombro-
sas historias, se refirió a esta tierra donde existían
fuentes de las que manaba en vez de agua un “aceite
negrísimo” (petróleo). El biólogo e investigador no-
ruego Thor Heyerdahl, lo expresó de la siguiente ma-
nera: “¿Tradición oral o cuento de hadas? En el punto
donde se detiene la ciencia, comienza la imaginación”
