Golf
Another sport practiced in Manzanillo, that has made
it internationally famous, is golf, thanks to the won-
derful courses that have become the sites of interna-
tional tournaments in which the world’s most
famous golfers play.
The most spectacular course is at Isla Navidad. Its
meticulous design is the work of architected Robert
von Hagge, who is responsible for 184 other courses,
in addition to this one, and has participated in the
planning and design of another 200 around the world.
The 27 holes of the course have made it challenging
for many golfers. The golf club also features other
services, including a Club House and the International
Golf School.
One of the most popular golf courses in this desti-
nation is the 18-hole Las Hadas course. It is adorned
with a great number of palm trees that dance in the
wind and silently observe the shots of every golfer who
plays there. Designed by Pete and Roy Dye, it is one of
themost beautiful tropical courses in theworld. Among
its multiple attractions is the Salahua River that bends
and winds through the course, making each shot a chal-
lenge and at the same time amemorable experience.
Manzanillo’s third golf course is located in Club
Santiago. This nine-hole course, designed by Larry
Hughes, runs along the waterfront, which gives it a
special, warm touch.
There is also the 18-hole El Tamarindo golf course,
designed by David Fleming.

que le ha dado nombre a nivel internacional es el golf,
gracias a sus maravillosos campos que se han converti-
do en sede de torneos internacionales donde juegan los
golfistas más famosos del mundo.
El campo más espectacular es el de Isla Navidad,
gracias a su diseño meticulosamente planeado por el ar-
quitecto Robert von Hagge, quien ha diseñado otros
184 campos además de éste y ha participado en la pla-
neación del diseño de otros 200 en el mundo. Los 27 ho-
yos del campo lo han convertido en un reto para muchos
golfistas. Al campo de golf se integran áreas destinadas
a diversos servicios, como la Casa Club y la Escuela In-
ternacional de Golf.
Otro de los campos de golf más visitados del desti-
no es el de Las Hadas, que tiene 18 hoyos. Está decora-
do con una multitud de palmeras que danzan con el
viento y observan silenciosas cada tiro de los deportis-
tas. Es uno de los campos de golf tropicales más bellos
del mundo, diseñado por Pete y Roy Dye. Entre sus múl-
tiples atractivos está el serpenteante Río Salahua que
forma recodos que hacen de cada tiro un reto y al mis-
mo tiempo una experiencia memorable.
En el Club Santiago se encuentra el tercer campo de
golf en Manzanillo, con 9 hoyos. Diseñado por Larry
Hughes, tiene la característica especial de estar ubicado
frente al mar, lo que le da un toque distinto y cálido.
Y además, está el campo de golf de El Tamarindo, de
18 hoyos, diseñado por David Fleming.
