literario, así como el coloquial. La educación es obliga-
toriamente bilingüe, por lo que el 80% de la población
habla también francés y un 65% inglés.
No hay gente más cálida y servicial que la liba-
nesa, pues para ellos la hospitalidad no es una virtud,
¡es un credo!
Jezzine
Jezzine es una ciudad del Líbano situada a 22 km
de Saida (Sidón). Rodeado de montañas y entre bos-
ques de pinos, es el principal centro turístico de vera-
no del sur del país. De gran belleza natural, con valles
de pinares y cumbres, lagunas y cascadas. La ciudad
es conocida como la “Ciudad de las Cataratas”. Jezzine
es reconocida internacionalmente por su artesanía:
cuchillos artesanales y otros cubiertos hechos con
mosaicos incrustados y labrados en hueso. Esta cu-
bertería ha sido donada como regalo a dignatarios del
mundo como recuerdo único del Líbano.

Jezzine

pine forests, it is the main tourist destination of
South Lebanon. It has great natural beauty, featur-
ing pine-forested valleys and mountain summits,
ponds, and waterfalls. The town is known as the
“City of Falls”. Jezzine is internationally renowned
for its handcrafted knives and other cutlery, made
of inlaid mosaics and bone. The unique cutlery has
been presented as gifts to dignitaries all over the
world as a unique memento of Lebanon.
