elaborated with arabic bread, veal meat, onions, pick-

a sesame sauce; or the delicious falafel, a mixture of
fried broad beans, onions garlic, parsley, peppermint,
celery and seeds mixed with coriander. Go to the com-
merces that offer gold of the region at a good price in
the Armenian district of Bourj Hamoud, tourists may
findbeautifulpiecesofgoldthatreachthe18or22car-
atsatmoderatepricetags. Furnituregalleries,clothes,
perfumes or other products fabricated by Europe and
America. Yoy may also relax in the beaches of Beirut,
enjoy water ski, have a sailing boat ride or admire the
scenery in a speedboat and in half an hour reach the
mountains to practice snowski.
Night life is extraordinary. Beirut is illumi-
nated with thousands of clubs and restaurants.
Young folks can find a wide range of nightlife.
There are theaters, singers or shows of the Middle
East, costum festivals in natural scenarios and
great musicals of directors like Caracalla, Ghadi
and Marwan Rahbani or artists such as Marcel
Khalife, Magida Roumi, Ziad Rahbani, Nashwa
Karam, Rhageb Alam and the new diva of the
Lebanese scene, Tannia Kassis, besides the tradi-
tional stars of its artistic panorama.

lla, pepinillos, nabo, jitomate y yerbabuena, adere-
zado con “tahini”, salsa de ajonjolí; o el rico “fala-
fel”, una mezcla frita de habas, cebolla, ajo, perejil,
yerbabuena, apio y semilla molida de cilantro. Ir a
los comercios que ofrecen el oro de la región a buen
precio, en el barrio armenio de Bourj Hamoud, el tu-
rista encuentra piezas bellísimas de oro de 18 a 22
kilates a precios moderados. Galerías de muebles,
ropa, perfumes u otros productos fabricados en
Europa o América. El turista puede relajarse en las
playas beirutís, disfrutar del esquí acuático, subir a
un velero o pasear en lancha y, en media hora, llegar
a la montaña a practicar esquí en la nieve.
La vida nocturna es extraordinaria. Beirut se ilu-
mina con decenas de centros nocturnos y restauran-
tes. Los jóvenes encuentran un mosaico de “antros”.
Hay obras de teatro, cantantes o espectáculos del Me-
dio Oriente, festivales costumbristas en escenarios
naturales y grandes musicales de directores como
