OttomanMilitary Hospital
Located in front of the of theGreat Palace, thismag-
no construction was built in 1860 in which high rank
workers installed during the Mandate. Between 1960
and 1970 itwas Supreme Court of Jurisprudence. Today
it is the headquarter of the Development and Recon-
structionCouncil.
Al-Omari Mosque
It was originally the Cathedral of the crusade of
Saint John (1113-1115). In 1291, it was transformed
into the Great Mosque of Beirut.
Zawiyat Ibn al-’Arraq
Constructed in 1517 by Mohammed Ibn al-
’Arraq ad-Dimashqi, the building began its history
as an Islamic law school and after converted into a
OttomanMuslimsanctuary. It was rediscovered and
habilitated by the end of the war, in 1991.
Amir Munzer Mosque
The initial structure of the Mosque of Amir
Munzer was built in 1620. It was called Naoufara
Marque and has eight Roman columns in its patio.
Mohamed Al AminMosque
Built over 10,000 square meter, it fits 5,000
faithful. Its construction began in 2002 and was in-
augurated in 2008 with a cost of 24 million dollars,
part of the project was the reconstruction of the dis-
eased Rafik Hariri, whose grave remained a Mosque.
It’s blue domes and four minarets stand out.
Hospital Militar Otomano
Se ubica frente al Gran Palacio. Es un magno
edificio construido en 1860, en el que después se
instalaron los altos funcionarios del Mandato. En-
tre 1960 y 1970 fue Corte de Jurisprudencia. Hoy
es sede del Consejo para el Desarrollo y la Recons-
trucción.
Mezquita Al-Omari
Originalmente fue la catedral cruzada de San Juan
(1113-1115). En 1291, fue transformada en la Gran
Mezquita de Beirut.
Zawiyat Ibn al-’Arraq
Construido en 1517 por Mohammed Ibn al-’Arraq
ad-Dimashqi, el edificio empezó como escuela islá-
mica de leyes y después se convirtió en un santuario
musulmán otomano. Fue redescubierto y habilitado al
fín de la guerra, en 1991.
Mezquita Amir Munzer
La estructura inicial de la mezquita de Amir Mun-
zer fue construida en 1620. Era llamada mezquita
Naoufara y tiene ocho columnas romanas en su patio.
Mezquita Mohamed Al Amín
Construida sobre 10,000 metros cuadrados, tiene
cabida para 5,000 fieles. Se comenzó en el 2002 y fue
inaugurada en 2008 con un costo de 24 millones de
dólares, parte del proyecto de reconstrucción del di-
funto Rafik Hariri, cuya tumba quedó en la mezquita.
Resalta el azul de los domos y sus cuatro minaretes.
