Café
One of the best-loved restaurants in Moscow, the Gallery Cafe has
been a bastion of the city’s cultural life for the last seven years.
The restaurant plays host to contemporary art exhibitions, con-
certs, performances and glamorous parties. In addition to an ar-
ray of excellent global cuisine by Chef Sergey Markin, it’s easy to
see why the venue has garnered such a grand reputation among

in the evenings when the lights are down, the venue provides the
perfect romantic setting. Ideal for intimate functions, the lounge
zone can be hired for private dining or cocktail parties on request.
Uno de los restaurantes más queridos en Moscú, el Gallery Café ha
sido un bastión de la vida cultural de la ciudad durante los siete años
recientes. El restaurante alberga exposiciones de arte contemporá-
neo, conciertos, actuaciones y fiestas glamurosas, además de una
variedad de excelente cocina mundial, obra del chef Sergey Markin.
Es fácil ver por qué el lugar se ha ganado una gran reputación entre
la sociedad moscovita. El interior es elegante y sofisticado. En las
noches, cuando las luces bajan, el lugar es de un romanticismo casi

Central House
of Writers
The Central House of Writers, or Tsentralny Dom Literatov (TsDL), is a Moscow in-
stitution, as well as a fantastic restaurant. Situated on Povarskaya, a popular res-
idential street for nobility and aristocrats, the building was originally owned by
Count Olsufyev, a general to the Tsar and member of the Freemasons. This beautiful
Russian mansion was built in the Art Nouveau era. It has seen many uses: a secret
meeting-place of the Moscow Chapter, and after the Revolution a shelter for the
homeless and then an orphanage.
In 1932 it was handed to the Union of Soviet Writers and has seen the creation
of many Soviet masterpieces. The main dining area, the Oak Hall, has been restored
to exactly how it was in 1910 - the elegantly carved wood panelling, crystal chan-
deliers and fireplaces make this one of the grandest dining rooms in Moscow. There
are also other dining areas: an Italian-themed restaurant and terrace, a VIP room
and a cigar room.
La Casa Central de Escritores o Tsentralny Dom Literatov (TSDL) es una institución en
Moscú, así como un fantástico restaurante. Situado en Povarskaya, una popular calle
residencial de la nobleza y la aristocracia, el edificio fue originalmente propiedad del
Conde Olsufyev, un general al servicio del zar y miembro de la masonería. Esta her-
mosa mansión de Rusia fue construida en la época del Art Nouveau. Ha tenido muchos
usos: un lugar de encuentros secretos del capítulo de Moscú y, después de la Revolu-
ción Bolchevique, un refugio para personas sin hogar y orfanato.
En 1932 pasó a manos de la Unión de Escritores Soviéticos y ha sido testigo de la
creación de muchas obras maestras moscovitas. El comedor principal ha sido restaurado
exactamente como fue en 1910 -los paneles de madera elegantemente tallada, lámparas
de araña de cristal y chimeneas hacen de ésta una de las habitaciones más grandes de
restaurantes en Moscú. También hay otras áreas restauranteras y una terraza, una sala
VIP y un área para fumar. El menú ofrece todos los clásicos típicos rusos, mientras un
chef italiano prepara algunos platos mediterráneos. Ambos son excepcionales.
