Estos asentamientos frecuentemente en conflic-
to se enfrentaban entre sí. Hasta el año 862, en que un
clan de guerreros vikingos, que dirigía Nóvgorod con
sus hermanos Zinues y Truvor impusieron su control
sobre las tribus eslavas. El clan se llamaba Rus, de ahí
que la nación toma el nombre de Rusia. Los seguidores
de Rurik son conocidos como varegos, que significa
“aliados”, que tiene el sentido de la visionaria forta-
