A 35 minutos de Ciudad del Cabo se encuentra
Stellenbosch, que cuenta con casi 100 viñedos.
Además de los viñedos, esta zona tiene un pequeño
y pintoresco pueblo, fundado por Simon van der Stel
en 1679, con una arquitectura atractiva y su propia
universidad.
Situada en el valle del río Berg, Paarl (“perla” en
antiguo afrikáans) es otra de las regiones de viñedos
cercanas a Ciudad del Cabo. La ciudad fue fundada en
1687 y es hogar de dos de las bodegas más famosas
del país: KWV y Nederburg.
La Garden Route y el parque nacional Tsitsikamma
A sólo unos kilómetros de la ruta del vino es posible lle-
gar al inicio de la llamada ruta de los jardines, en
Hermanus. El paisaje es muy diferente aquí, ahora en la
costadel océano Índico. Estazonaes la capital delmundo
en lo que a observar ballenas se refiere. Aún estando
fuera de la temporada, de agosto a septiembre, es segu-
ro que podrá ver ballenas y delfines en la costa.
Continuando en esta ruta pasará por el bosque
de Tsitsikamma, donde podrá disfrutar de la natura-
leza en todo su esplendor. Las mejores opciones de
hospedaje se encuentran en Plettenburg Bay y en
Port Elizabeth.
Durban
En las costas del océano Índico se encuentra la ciu-
dad portuaria de Durban, la tercera ciudad más gran-
de de Sudáfrica. Las principales atracciones de esta

whale watching. Still being out of season, from
August to September, it is definite you can see
whales and dolphins in the coast.
Continuing inthis routeyouwill pass throughthe
Tsitsikamma forest, where you can enjoy nature in its
entire splendor. The best lodging options are in
Plettenburg Bay and in Port Elizabeth.
