Enmarcada por la pintoresca vista de Table Mountain
y el océano Atlántico, Ciudad del Cabo es realmente
un lugar de una belleza muy especial.
Una de sus atracciones principales es el recorrido
por teleférico hasta la punta de Table Mountain, cuyo
nombre se debe a su especial forma plana. Durante el
ascenso, el teleférico va rotando lentamente para
poder disfrutar de las imponentes vistas del océano
y de la ciudad.
El centro turístico y de entretenimiento de la ciu-
dad es el Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Se trata de un
complejo de tiendas, restaurantes y facilidades para el
entretenimiento. Desde aquí también salen los botes
hacia Robben Island, donde se encontraba la antigua
prisión del Estado. Hoy en día éste es un destino favo-
recido por turistas de todo el mundo, interesados en
visitar la celda donde estuvo Nelson Mandela y otros
prisioneros políticos durante la era del apartheid. La
vista desde la isla es otro de sus atractivos y una opor-
tunidad para tomar fotos que no deberá dejar pasar.
