Desde el yate la vista es impresionante y a la luz del atar-
decer el sol alumbra los picos. El Ti’a Moana zarpó para seguir
la hermosa costa delineada con bahías y playas, hasta anclar-
se frente a Fare Piti, que cuenta con muelle y club de yate, y
todo para ver la excepcional puesta de sol que deslumbra el
motu Tevairoa mientras tomábamos champaña. Una cena
elegante y refinada se sirvió bajo la luz de las estrellas.
Isla Taha’a
El yate zarpó a las 11:00 pm para dejar la laguna de Bora Bo-
ra y entrar en la de Taha’a, la isla Vanilla, después de 90 mi-
nutos de navegación. El sol brillaba con fuerza en la mañana
cuando descubrimos el fabuloso paisaje.
El yate estaba anclado entre la isla principal, con sus
montes verdes y unos motu que encierran la laguna de 10 a
30 m de profundidad y de colores fabulosos.
Stephane y su equipo nos llevaron en lancha rápida a un
lugar de poca profundidad, y ya en el agua Stephane atrajo a
los tiburones ofreciéndoles comida. Los temibles animalitos
nadaban alrededor de nosotros en lo que de pronto parecía
un auténtico baile de terror, aunque Stephane insistía en que
eran inofensivos. En otro lugar nadamos con las mantarra-
yas, que se pegaban al cuerpo como para acariciarnos con su
suave piel, aunque su cola es rasposa.
Finalmente llegamos cerca de un motu, donde una mesa
decorada con frutas y bebidas estaba instalada en el agua.
sailed off to follow the beautiful coast, lined with bays
and beaches, until it dropped anchor in Fare Piti, which
has a dock and yacht club, so that we could enjoy the
exceptional sunset that dazzled the Tevairoa motu
while we drank champagne. An elegant, sophisticat-
ed dinner was served under a starry sky.
Taha’a Island
The yacht set sail at 11:00 P.M. We left the Bora Bora
lagoon to enter, after 90 minutes of sailing, the Taha’a
lagoon, the vanilla island. The sun shone brightly dur-
ing themorning as we discovered the fabulous scenery.
The yacht was anchored between the main island,
with its greenmountains, and somemotus that enclose
the 10 to 30m (33 to 98 ft) lagoon of fabulous colors.
Stephane and his crew took us on speed boat to a
shallow place and, once in the water, he attracted the
sharks by offering them food. The fearsome animals
swam around us in what suddenly appeared to be an
authentic dance of terror even though Stephane
insisted that they are harmless. In another place we
swam with manta rays, which stuck close to our bod-
ies as if inviting us to stroke their soft skin, even
though their tails are rough.
Finally, we got close to a motu, where a table deco-
rated with fruit and drinks was installed by the water.
We enjoyed traditional cuisine — fish with coconut
cooked in a pit in the sand, chicken and vegetables—
