parcialmente escondida del salón por un escalón. Sin
perder la decoración de los cincuenta, tiene todos los
elementos para preparar las mejores viandas, incluye
una gran cubierta y un refrigerador. Antes de bajar las
escaleras, que conducen al área de descanso, no topa-
mos con el centro de mando. Un sillón doble con contro-
les hidráulicos es especialmente útil para maniobrar y
estacionarse. La cabina de control cuenta con un techo
deslizable que transforma al Dolphin 51 en un práctico
convertible.
Bajo cubierta hay dos suites dobles y un camarote
separado, con baño propio, para una persona de la tripu-
lación. La suite maestra tiene paredes y piso de teca y
está decorada con muebles típicos ingleses. El tapiz de
colores claros resalta las maderas de puertas y clósets,
y una pantalla de plasma y una lámpara elegante contri-
buyen al confort. Esta suite tiene acceso directo a un
baño privado, cuyos accesorios nos transportan a los
años cincuenta, particularmente la forma retro del lava-
manos, las llaves y las argollas para toallas. La suite de
los invitados tiene camas gemelas separadas por una
cajonera y un espejo, con su propio baño completo, si-
milar al de la suite maestra. La altura del techo contribu-
ye a que se vean más espaciosas y que los viajes
normales se conviertan en un verdadero placer, con
ventajas modernas que los navieros de los cincuenta
sólo se podían imaginar.

predominant materials of the dining area. An
expandable dining table and corner leather sofa are
the focal points of the saloon. In the starboard side of
the hall, a console contains storage shelves and draw-
ers and a state of the art entertainment center. The
full kitchen is partially hidden from the living room
by a step-down. Completely furnished with a large
counter top, the kitchen also echoes the boat’s atmos-
phere with a 50’s style silver-plated fridge. Before
going down the stairs leading into the sleeping area
we come across the helm station. A double chair with
hydraulic comfort controls is particularly useful for
maneuvering and mooring. Here a sliding roof trans-
forms the 51’Dolphin into a practical convertible.
Below deck, there are two double cabins for
guests, and a separate cabin for one crew-member
with private bathroom. The master cabin has teak
walls and flooring and inlaid English-style furniture.
The light-colored upholstery sets off the wood of the
doors and closets. A plasma TV, an elegant reading
lamp add to the comfort. There is direct access to a pri-
vate full bath. The chromed accessories once again
recall the 50’s style, particularly in the retro shape of
the washbasin, the star-shaped faucet and the towel
rings. The guest cabin has twin beds separated by a
small chest of drawers with a large mirror above. It
has direct access to its own bathroom, in the same
style as the master cabin bathroom. The height of the
cabins and spacious rooms make medium-length
cruises a real pleasure with comforts that mariners
from the fifties could only dream about.
