Glasgow es la ciudad de los trabajadores y de la
industria. Su centro antiguo recela de edificios sun-
tuosos como la universidad, la galería de arte, las
casas de Kelvingrove o Kelvinside, donde nos aloja-
mos en el maravilloso Hotel du Vin, un original hotel
fusión de varias elegantes mansiones.
En esa ciudad de misterios, al estilo burgués de
principio del siglo XX, destaca la catedral con toda su
fuerza medieval, maravilloso ejemplo de arquitectura
gótica anterior a la reforma. La cripta es un misterioso
bosque de pilares donde reina la tumba de san Mungo.
Al sur de Glasgow
La región de los Borders, frontera con Inglaterra, es
un territorio de verdes colinas dedicadas a la agricul-
tura y al ganado.
Navegando por la costa, alcanzamos nuestro
destino final, el elegante castillo de Culzean que
domina el acantilado con su estilo típicamente esco-
cés barroco, con hermosos jardines floreados, donde
magnolias compiten con narcisos. Hogar creado por
David Kennedy, Earl of Cassilis, en 1777, donde se
alojó Dwight Eisenhower.
Antes de abordar el avión, terminamos nuestro

tury bourgeois style, the catedral is outstanding in
all its medieval glory, a marvelous example of
gothic architecture before the reform. The crypt is
a mysterious forest of pillars where St Mungo’s
tomb reigns.
South of Glasgow
The Borders region, beside England, is a green,
hilly territory used for agriculture and cattle.
Sailing along the coast, we reach our final des-
tination, the elegant Culzean castle that domi-
nates the cliff with its typically Scottish baroque
style, and gorgeous flowering gardens where the
magnolias compete with narcissus. The home was
founded in 1777 by David Kennedy, Earl of Cassilis.
Former American president Dwight Eisenhower
once stayed there.
Before boarding the plane, we finish our tour
by resting mind and body in the Sheraton Grand
Hotel & Spa.
Scotland is a veritable fairytale with moun-
tains, mysterious towns, intriguing castles, and
mist-shrouded lochs where monsters and goblins
just might appear. Its beauty, cultivation and
