St. Andrews se enorgullece de sus ruinas de la
abadía, que impresionó un tiempo por su grandeza y

turbulento de los conflictos religiosos. Pero su estre-
lla es el campo de golf más antiguo del mundo,
donde se practica ese deporte desde 1457, con su
suave recorrido cerca del mar donde las olas azotan
las ruinas del castillo.

frutar de la pequeña ciudad donde el golf es el rey.
Desde St Andrews hasta Aberdeen
Antes de navegar recorrimos la campiña y el espec-
tacular castillo de Glamis, que era la residencia de la
reina madre, elegante y sobrio, escondido en un par-
que donde las flores realzan su belleza.
Las ciudades de Perth y Dundee conservan su
ambiente de pequeña gran ciudad a la sombra de sus
iglesias y elegantes edificios victorianos.
Al navegar hacia el norte pasamos los bellos
puertos de Monlrose y Stoneheaven, con grandes
playas de arena fina al pie de los pequeños acantila-
dos vigilados por los borregos.
Aberdeen abre su gran puerto al importante
comercio internacional, famoso por la pesca. La ciu-
dad simboliza ese auge con grandes edificios majes-
tuosos, su larga playa con su
Boardwalk
, el acuario, la
alcaldía, la universidad.
St. Andrews is proud of its abbey ruins, which at
one time were imposing due to their greatness and ele-
gant sobriety, a threateningwitness of a turbulent past
filled with religious conflicts. The star attraction, how-
ever, is the oldest golf course in the world, where the
sport has been practiced since 1457. Its gentle route
meanders beside the ocean where the waves beat
against the castle ruins.

enjoy the small city where golf is king.
From St Andrews to Aberdeen
Before sailing we visit the countryside and the spectacu-
lar Glamis Castle, the elegant and sober childhood
home of the Queen Mother, hidden in a beautiful park
enhanced by flowers.
The cities of Perth and Dundee preserve their small-
town, big-city feel in the shadow of their churches and
elegant victorian buildings.
As we sail north we pass the beautiful ports of
Montrose and Stonehaven, with their fine sandy
beaches at the foot of the small bluffs that are watched
over by sheep.
Aberdeen, famous for its fishing, opens its great
port to important international commerce. The city’s
consequence is reflected in the majesty of its large
buildings, its long beach and boardwalk, the aquarium,
Mayoralty and university.
