que esa “Stone of Destiny” o “Stone of Scone” fue
traída desde Tierra Santa.
Las angostas salas, la capilla, las salas de armas
confieren encanto al castillo que ofrece las mejores
vistas de la ciudad, y en la plaza donde se eleva su
muralla unas cruces lucen con misterio.
Empieza entonces el Royal Mile, la calle más anti-
gua de Edimburgo, que conecta el castillo con el
Palacio de Holyrood House, residencia real desde
1300, embellecida a lo largo de los siglos. Visitamos
bares, tiendas y museos, Scotch Whisky Centre, John
Knox House, Huntly House, Lawnmarket con sus ele-
gantes casas y lo más relevante de todo es la catedral
Saint Giles, con su torre medieval y donde John Knox
predicaba en 1500 la reforma de la iglesia escocesa.
La Princes Street vibra de gente, bordeando el par-
que donde domina el gótico monumento a Scott, ani-
mada por tiendas y restaurantes. Los

el jardín botánico, los museos y las galerías alegran la
ciudad que se admira desde CaltonHill, verdadero cuen-
to de leyendas escrito en sus viejas piedras.
Cerca de Edimburgo, visitamos la capilla de

park dominated by the giant and gothic Scott
Monument, and is enlivened by shops and restaurants.
The pubs, parks, botanical garden, museums and gal-
leries cheer the city that can be admired from Calton
Hill, a genuine fairytale written in its ancient stones.
Close to Edinburgh, we visit the Rosslyn Chapel,
built in the fifteenth century with a richly worked inte-
rior and famous for its role in the novel,
The Da Vinci
Code.
