After the spectacular remodeling, paintings
seemed to regain their aura. The medieval and Re-
naissance art is located in the zero floor, along with
the mentioned special collections of porcelain, boats
and magic lanterns ... The eighteenth and nineteenth
centuries, with some work of Goya, the light brushes
of Van Gogh and Dutch Impressionism are located on
the first floor. The historical journey continues in the
seventeenth century through the second floor with
worksof youngRembrandt, alongwithAdriaenCoorte
and spaces that combine paintings and objects under
different topics: the country’s naval power, the great-
ness of the national realistic painting, the preponder-
ance of landscape or the representation of everyday
life in detail. In addition, as a novelty, it accommo-
dates the contemporary art spaces which were recov-
ered. AMondrian, among other paintings, are seen on
the wings of the two towers. The decision was a chal-
lenged by the presence of nearly 200 meters from the
Stedelijk, modern artmuseuminAmsterdam.
TheRijksmuseumis open to the public 365days a
year. Its cultural activity is incessant. From February
12, 2015 until May 17, 2015, a special celebration is
planned tomobilize thewhole country: a spectacular
and ambitious retrospective of Rembrandt will bring
together works never before exhibited together. In
collaboration with the National Gallery in London, it
will be presented to the public as an overview of the
work of this great master from 1652 until his death
in 1669. Admission is free to young peoplewith up to
18 years of age. Before the reforms, about 1,000,000
people visited the Rijksmuseumannually. Currently,
with over 80 galleries and a 1.5 mile walk, the Rijks-
museum will have the capacity to accommodate up
to 2,000,000 visitors each year.

Tras la espectacular remodelación, las pintu-
ras parecieron recobrar su aura. El arte medieval y
renacentista se encuentra en la planta cero, junto
a las citadas colecciones especiales de porcelana,
barcos y linternas mágicas... El siglo XVIII y XIX, con
alguna obra de Goya, los luminosos pinceles de Van
Gogh y el impresionismo holandés se ubican en la
primera planta. El recorrido histórico continúa en el
siglo XVII por la segunda planta, con obras del joven
Rembrandt, bodegones de Adriaen Coorte y espa-
cios que mezclan pinturas y objetos bajo temáticas
diversas: el poderío naval del país, la grandeza de
la pintura nacional realista, la preponderancia del
paisaje o la representación de la vida cotidiana en
sus detalles. Además, como novedad, se da cabida
al arte contemporáneo en espacios recuperados. Un
Mondrian, entre otras pinturas, luce en las alas de
las dos torres. La decisión fue discutida por la pre-
sencia a unos 200 metros del Stedelijk, el museo de
arte moderno de Ámsterdam.
El Rijksmuseum está abierto al público los 365
días del año. Su actividad cultural es incesante. Del
12 febrero 2015 hasta el 17 mayo 2015, ya está pre-
vista una celebración especial que movilizará a todo
el país: una espectacular y ambiciosa retrospectiva de
Rembrandt que reunirá obras que nunca se exhibieron
antes juntas. En colaboración con la National Gallery
de Londres, se presentará al público una visión global
de la obra de este gran maestro desde 1652 hasta su
muerte en 1669. Y la entrada es gratis para los jóvenes
de hasta 18 años. Antes de las reformas, alrededor de
1,000,000 personas visitaban el Rijksmuseum anual-
