Algo muy curioso de este lago isleño, es que

contiene a su vez una isla con elevada actividad

volcánica y donde también se ha formado otro

pequeño lago, ¡y que simultáneamente tiene una

micro-isla!; como si fuese el reflejo de un espejo

dentro de otro espejo. Aquí hay aguas termales

donde se puede tomar un cálido baño purificante.

Cuando la visibilidad lo permite, desde Manila pode-

mos admirar el gran volcán sagrado de Banahaw, el

cual lleva más de dos siglos inactivo y cuyo inmenso

cráter tiene forma de herradura, constituyendo un es-

trecho cañón por donde transita un río. Los alrededo-

res de este volcán -considerado un místico centro de

poderosa energía por los filipinos-, ofrecen hermosos

paisajes, así como cascadas donde los visitantes asis-

ten para curar sus males y meditar.

Another curious fact about this island lake is that

it is home to another islandwithin its perimeter that is

alsodisplayshighvolcanic activity. This island, in turn,

is also home to another small lake …that is home to an-

other, smaller island! As if it was the reflectionof amir-

ror into another mirror. Thermal waters have become

anotherpopularwiththe locals,mostlyusedforpurify-

ing baths. Whenvisibility allows it, one canadmire the

great and sacred Banahaw volcano. Banahaw has been

dormant for over two centuries, which allows travelers

to gaze at its enormous horseshoe-shaped crater that

forms a steep canyon where a river flows through. The

volcano surroundings—considered a mystical focal

point of powerful energy according to local people—

are home to sublime views as well as waterfalls where
