Moscú
Hay quienes aman Moscú, y quienes lo odian. La
razón es simple, se trata de una ciudad de intensos
contrastes. Moscú es un microcosmos de la Rusia
moderna y de todo lo que representa: al mismo tiem-
po sombrío y hermoso, hedonista y devoto. Ha sido
reconocida con el poco deseable título de la ciudad
más cara del mundo por dos años consecutivos y, sin
embargo, la gran mayoría de los moscovitas encuen-
tra el nivel de vida de los altos estratos de la ciudad
capital totalmente inalcanzable. La extravagancia es
la mejor palabra para describir los lujosos pasatiem-
pos que abundan en esta ciudad. Por otro lado, algu-
nos de sus edificios pueden contarse entre los más
hermosos del mundo, como la Catedral de San
Basilio. Es por todo esto tal vez que quien visita
Moscú se lleva una experiencia inolvidable.
Historia
Desde sus inicios, la actual capital ha tenido una his-
toria dramática y colmada de acontecimientos. El
primero de estos fue la invasión por la llamada Horda
de Oro, uno de los estados derivados del gran
Imperio Mongol. En 1237, los principados eslavos,
entre los cuales estaba la ciudad de Moscú, fueron
atacados por la Horda, un ejército de guerreros
nómadas bajo el mando de Baty Kan, nieto de Gengis
Kan. Fue sólo hasta el s. XV que Moscú logró inde-
pendizarse de los invasores para siempre.

There are those who love Moscow, and those who
hate it. The reason is simple; it is about a city of
intense contrasts. Moscow is a micro-cosmos of
the modern Russia and of all that it represents: at
the same time gloomy and beautiful, hedonist and
devote. For two consecutive years it has been
recognized with the undesirable title of the most
expensive city of the world and, however, most of
the Muscovites find the level of life of the high
stratums of the totally unattainable capital city.
Extravagance is the best word to describe the luxu-
rious hobbies that abound in this city. On the other
hand, some of its buildings are among the most
beautiful worldwide, such as the Cathedral of Saint
Basil. For all this, who visits Moscow has an unfor-
gettable experience.
History
From its beginnings, the actual capital has a dra-
matic history and filled of events. The first of these
was the invasion for the Horde of Gold, one of the
states derived from the great Mongolian Empire. In
1237, the Slavic principalities, among which the city
of Moscow was, they were attacked by the Horde, an
army of nomadwarriors under the commandof Batty
Kan, grandchild of Genghis Kan. It was only until the
XVth century that Moscow was able to become inde-
pendent from the invaders for ever.
