Egipto es un país que está muy occidentalizado y es
bastante liberal. Sus habitantes están familiarizados
con el turismo, por lo que respetan las costumbres
de aquellos que visitan su país. Ante cualquier duda
de comportamiento, dirigirse al guía turístico.
A donde fueres haz lo que vieres. Por ejemplo, las
egipcias no entran a las mezquitas con pantalones
cortos. Pese a ello, si alguna de las turistas no tiene
pantalón largo o faldas largas, al entrar en la mezqui-
ta le harán entrega de una capa para cubrirse.
Otra de sus costumbres es la de descalzarse. En
algunas mezquitas dan a los turistas unas babuchas
de tela para colocárselas encima de los zapatos. Aún
así, el guía avisará con antelación qué ropa es reco-
mendable llevar para una visita a la mezquita. Los
egipcios son abiertos y alegres y reconocidos por su
hospitalidad con los visitantes.

El verano es de calor seco, y casi todos los transportes y
alojamientos o restaurantes poseen aire acondicionado.
En Egipto el día festivo es el viernes (como el
domingo para nosotros). Todos los lugares cierran
pero los lugares turísticos permanecen abiertos. El
domingo todo se encuentra abierto.
Egipto es un país liberal y durante las fiestas del
Ramadan se encuentran abiertos los restaurantes

Rome. Women are thus advised not to enter a
mosque wearing shorts. Should a lady visitor not
have a garment to cover herself, she will be
offered a complimentary cape at the entrance.
Another prerequisite in entering a mosque is
to take off one’s shoes. Some mosques will offer
cloth coverings so as not to have to remove one’s
shoes. Nevertheless, the guide will recommend
beforehand which garments are advisable to
wear visiting a mosque. Egyptians are open and
friendly and renowned for their hospitality.
