W
ho hasn't heard the word "Cancun" at
least once in their life? When you do, the
first thing that springs to mind is a
series of luxurious hotels, good restaurants, bars
and nightclubs for all tastes and ages, but above all
glamour, lots of glamour.
All this is true andmore, but Cancun is not only
buildings and cement, it is also center of entertain-
ment and culture for all the family entertainment,
but wemust forget the greatness of theMayan peo-
ple that used to inhabit this land many years ago.
Cancun is located practically on the point of
the Yucatán Peninsula, where the peaceful
Caribbean Sea begins and the enormous Gulf
of Mexico ends. Politically, it belongs to the
young State of Quintana Roo and has the good for-
tune of being surrounded by one of the clearest

uién no ha escuchado por lo menos una vez en su
vida la palabra “Cancún”. Frente a ello, lo primero
que viene a nuestra mente es una serie de hote-
les de lujo, buenos restaurantes, bares y discotecas para
todos los gustos y edades, pero sobre todo glamour,
mucho glamour.
Todo eso es cierto y más, pero Cancún no es sólo
construcciones y cemento, también es un centro de
diversión y cultura para toda la familia, pues no tene-
mos que olvidar la grandeza de los mayas que habitaron
estas tierras hace ya muchos años.
Cancún se encuentra localizado prácticamente en la
punta de la Península de Yucatán, allí donde empieza el
bello mar Caribe y termina el enorme Golfo de México.
Pertenece políticamente al joven Estado de Quintana Roo
y tiene la gran suerte de estar rodeado por uno de los
mares más claros y bonitos del mundo, el increíble Caribe.
