Hanoi
La capital de la República Socialista de Vietnam es
una ciudad pequeña y elegante que ofrece numero-
sos puntos de interés histórico y espiritual. Es tam-
bién la ciudad más europea de todo Vietnam. Su
arquitectura recuerda el ambiente provincial francés
con la elegancia de sus edificios coloniales perfecta-
mente conservados.
La actual Hanoi se está convirtiendo rápidamen-
te en una ciudad muy atractiva para el turismo con
una escena cultural significativa, movimientos de
arte contemporáneo, restaurantes y hoteles de gran
lujo. Hanoi es también un paisaje repleto de lagos,
bulevares sombreados y parques frondosos.
Principales atracciones

Mausoleo Ho Chi Minh
Aunque no precisamente hermoso, este monu-
mento representa todo un símbolo nacional. El
mausoleo alberga el cuerpo embalsamado de Ho
Chi Minh, al cual rinden homenajes propios de un
emperador. De estilo soviético y con una fachada
cubierta de mármol, es un lugar de peregrinaje y
culto para muchos vietnamitas. Está situado en la
plaza Ba Dinh, el lugar en donde Ho Chi Minh decla-
ró oficialmente la independencia del país en 1945.

Pagoda de un pilar
Originalmente esta pagoda fue construida por
órdenes del emperador Ly Thai Tong, quien gober-
nó entre los años 1028 y 1054, por lo que es uno
de los pocos monumentos anteriores a la funda-
ción del primer imperio vietnamita independiente
en el siglo XI. Su diseño trata de emular la forma de

small and elegant city that offers numerous his-
toric and spiritual points of interest. It is also the
most European city of all Vietnam. Its architecture
reminds the provincial French ambience with the
elegance of its colonial buildings perfectly pre-
served.
Today’s Hanoi is turning very fast in a very
attractive city for the tourism with a significant
cultural scene, contemporary art movements,
restaurants and grand luxury hotels. Hanoi is also
a landscape full of lakes, shady boulevards and
lush parks.
Main Attractions
• Mausoleum Ho Chi Minh
Although it is not precisely beautiful, this
monument represents a national emblem. The
mausoleum houses the embalmed body of Ho
Chi Minh, to whom they pay homage suitable of
an emperor. Soviet style andwith a facade covered
withmarble, it is a place of pilgrimage and cult for
many Vietnamese. It is located in the Bah Din
square, place in which Ho Chi Minh declared offi-
cially the country’s Independence in 1945.
• Pagoda of a pillar
Originally this pagoda was built by the emperor
Ly Thai Tong orders, who governed between the
years 1028 and 1054, for which is one of the few
monuments prior to the foundation of the first
independent Vietnamese empire in the XIth
