uando descubrí Croacia, el tiempo se detuvo y
me dejé impresionar por la fábula de los callejo-
nes y la nobleza de los edificios. Me sorprendió
la majestuosidad de las montañas y los colores del
litoral, me enfrenté a la sorpresa de recorrer un país
desconocido, poco descrito y asombroso. Entonces
escribí mi crónica de un viaje por un camino que trae
los recuerdos de una guerra reciente y sanguinaria,
fratricida, por los senderos de la historia que lleva casi
3 mil años dejando huellas en esa orilla del Adriático.

hen I discovered Croatia, time stopped and
I allowed myself to be impressed by the
mythology of its alleys and noble build-
ings. I was surprised by the majesty of the moun-
tains and the colors of the coast. I faced the surprise
of traveling anunknown country, unreported, andyet
amazing. Then I wrote this story of a journey down a
paththat bringsmemoriesof recent, tragicandbloody
wars that, through the lanes of history for almost
3000 years, has been leaving footprints in theAdriatic
shore. Let me take you with me in a voyage through
Croatia, one of themost beautiful regions of Europe.
