n a letter from Gibran Kahlil Gibran directed to
Mary Haskell, his muse and inspiration, dated
in Februrary 18th 1913, the Lebanese poet
wrote: “One of the most loved dreams of my heart
is that, some where, in any moment, a part of my
work […] will be exhibited in some museum or in-
stitution, in a great city, where people can see and
perhaps love”.
Themost archive of GibranKahlil Gibran is located
in Mexico and since 2008 it belongs to the colecction
of theMuseumSoumaya-Foundation Carlos Slim.
From the finest literary sensibility, certainly
Gibran is the largest representative of the culture
of the Middle East in the West. Essayist, cartoon-
ist, novelist, painter, playwright, poet and uni-
versal Singer of human emotions: grief, joy, love,
pain, searching, loneliness and nothingness, as
well as essential aspects of life. His biography and
research texts create bridges between the work of
Gibran and new generations. Unison for the Leba-
nese community and a point of encounter for a
plural and inclusive view.

n una carta de Gibran Kahlil Gibran dirigida
a Mary Haskell, su musa y mecenas, fechada
el 18 de febrero de 1913, el pensador libanés
escribió: “Uno de los sueños más amados de mi co-
razón es que, en algún lugar, en algún momento,
una parte de mi trabajo [

] se exhiba junta en al-
gún museo o en alguna institución, en una gran ciu-
dad, en donde la gente la pueda ver y quizá amar”.
El acervo más completo de Gibran Kahlil Gibran
está en México y desde 2008 forma parte de la colec-
ción de Museo Soumaya-Fundación Carlos Slim.
De la más fina sensibilidad literaria, sin duda,
Gibran es el mayor representante de la cultura de
Medio Oriente en Occidente. Ensayista, dibujante,
novelista, pintor, dramaturgo, poeta y cantor univer-
sal de las emociones humanas: la pena, la dicha, el
amor, el dolor, la búsqueda, la soledad y la nada, as-
pectos esenciales de la vida. Su biografía acompaña-
da de textos de investigación tiende puentes entre la
obra de Gibran y nuevas generaciones. Unidad para la
comunidad libanesa y punto de encuentro para una
realidad plural e incluyente.
