cerca encontramos la Ópera Estatal, hermoso
edificio de estilo neoclásico, construido en 1885.
Visitamos también el Museo del Comunismo que
narra la historia del comunismo en Praga, el ho-
tel Europa que fue construido en 1906; el Museo
Mucha que enseña las obras del famoso artista
checo en el Palacio Kaunicky. De allí partimos,
y nos sentamos junto al puente Carlos, Karlův
Most, para admirar el atardecer sobre el río. Es
el puente más antiguo de Praga y fue finalizado
al principio del siglo XV después de haber sido
empezado en 1357, vía de comunicación única
e importante entre la Ciudad Vieja y el Castillo.
Con sus 516 metros de longitud, se apoya sobre
16 arcos y está protegido por 3 torres. Todo el

classical building built in 1885. From there we vis-
ited the Communist Museum, which narrates the
story of Communist rule in Prague, then to the Eu-
ropa Hotel, built in 1906; The Mucha Museum that
displays works of famous Czech artists, housed in
the Kaunicky Palace. We parted, and then sat next
to the Charles Bridge, Karlův Most, to admire the
sunset over the river. It is the most ancient bridge
in Prague, finished in the 15th century after con-
struction began in 1357. It is the single most im-
portant communication route between the old part
of the city and the castle. It is 516 meters in length
and rests on 16 arches protected by 3 towers. The
city moves back and forth between the bridge,
which is at once also filled with merchants and art-
ists, musicians, and living “sculptures” that create
