a Ciudad Eterna es conocida así, no sólo
por su historia milenaria ni por ser una
de las primeras grandes metrópolis del
mundo, es apodada así porque hoy sigue
siendo tan bella como lo fue siglos atrás.
Roma es la cuna del arte y la arquitectura, la casa de
grandes diseñadores, la musa de varios artistas y la
sede de la fe católica.
Algunos escritores incluso describen la ciudad
como a una amante, debido a que tiene un encanto
muy especial; un día te enamoras de su belleza pasean-
do entre sus calles empedradas o te apasiona su deta-
llada arquitectura, también es posible que sus iglesias
te conmuevan o que su exquisita cocina te seduzca con
sus pastas, vinos, pizzas, helados o tiramisú en alguna
escondida y remota

. Una vez que te enamo-
ra es muy difícil dejarla en el pasado, es demandante y
celosa y tiene esa belleza y fuerza que cautiva a cual-
quiera. En Roma se dice:
“visita Roma e poi muori”
, que
quiere decir: “visita Roma y después puedes morir”.
Conocerla es como estar en un museo viviente,
con sólo recorrer las calles a pie puedes sentir su vi-
brante historia, dejarte estremecer por el Coliseo, los
Foros Romano e Imperial y por supuesto, lasmaravillo-
sas fuentes y esculturas que representan mitologías y
leyendas de otros tiempos. Una de las características
más cautivadoras de la ciudad son los románticos
atardeceres dorados sobres las cúpulas y tejados que
se aprecian desde cualquiera de los balcones de la
ciudad, como el Pincio, el Janículo, o el Giardino degli
Aranci, que se encuentran sobre alguna de las colinas,
entre las que esta mágica ciudad fue construida.

you fall in love with its beauty by walking through its
cobbledstreetsoryoufeelimpassionedwithitsdetailed
architecture,itisalsopossiblethatyoufeelmovedbyits
church temples or that its exquisite cuisine will seduce
youwith her pasta, wines, pizzas, ice creamor tiramisu
in some hidden and remote trattoria. Once you fall in
love, it is really hard to leave it behind, she is demand-
ingand jealous and it has that beautyandstrength that
captivateseveryone.InRomeitissaid:“visitaRomaepoi
muori”,whichmeans:“visitRomeandthenyoucandie”.
Knowing it is like being inside a livingmuseum,
only traveling by its streets on foot you can sense
its vibrant history, allow yourself to be rocked by
the Colosseum, the Roman and Imperial Forums
and of course, the wonderful fountains and sculp-
tures that represent mythologies and legends of
other times. One of the most captivating features of
the city are its golden sunsets over the domes and
roofs visible from any of the balconies of the city,
like the Pincian, the Janiculum, or the Giardino degli
Aranci, that sit over some of the hills, among which
this magical city was built upon.
