El parque tiene un microclima influenciado por su
cercanía al mar, generando temperaturas agradables
tanto en invierno como en verano. Durante los
meses lluviosos, la precipitación rara vez supera los
80 mm.
El viento es un componente importante del clima
en Torres del Paine. Vientos de hasta 70 nudos han
sido registrados en esta zona. En general, los vientos
generan un clima que puede cambiar repentinamen-
te. No es raro tener lluvia que en poco tiempo se dis-
persa dejando detrás de sí un día soleado y un cielo
despejado. Los vientos soplan principalmente en
dirección al oeste y por lo general son más frecuen-
tes al final de la primavera y principio del verano. Casi
no hay viento durante el invierno y, con la excepción
de algunas tormentas aisladas, esta temporada
tiene varios días soleados.
La lluvia es relativamente moderada, mientras
que durante el invierno la nieve cae principalmente
en las regiones más elevadas del parque. En la zona
de los lagos, hay nieve tan sólo por unas cuantas
semanas durante el año.
Durante los meses de invierno (junio y julio), la
temperatura oscila entre 13 °C máxima y 2 °C míni-
ma. En el verano (enero y febrero) la temperatura
máxima es 24 °C y la mínima 12 °C. En la primavera
(septiembre y octubre) se registran temperaturas
máximas de 19 °C y mínimas de 4.5 °C. Y en otoño el
paisaje es especialmente hermoso ya que los árbo-
les cambian de coloración y adoptan tonos rojos y
anaranjados. Las temperaturas en esta época osci-
lan entre 22 y 5 °C.

proximity to the sea, meaning that temperatures
are generally pleasant both in winter and summer
months. During the rainy season, precipitation
rarely exceeds 80 mm.
Wind is a major factor in the weather at Torres
del Paine. Winds up to 70 knots has been registered
in this zone. In general, the winds produce weather
that may change unexpectedly. It is not unusual to
have rain that within a short time dissipates and
leaves behind bright sunlight and clear skies. The
winds mainly blow in toward a westerly direction
and generally aremore frequent at the end of spring
and beginning of summer. There is practically no
wind during the winter months and, with the
exception of a few isolated storms, this season fea-
tures a handful of sunny days.
The rains are relatively moderate, while during
the winter months the snow falls mainly in the
most elevated regions in the park. In the zone of
the lakes, there snow falls only a few weeks during
the year.
During the winter months (June and July), the
temperature oscillates between 2

C. In the
summer (January and February) themaximum tem-
perature is 24

C and the minimum is 12

C. In the
spring (September and October), high temperatures

C have been recorded, whereas the low tem-
peratures are about 4.5

C. And in fall, the landscape
is especially beautiful, as the trees change in color
and turn to red and orange shades. The tempera-
