Day 2
The Luxurious rooms of the ship are comfort-
able and spacious; It is a great relief that they are
equiped with air condition, this way you do not
suffer from the amazonic heat; they possess full
bathrooms with hot water that is available all day,
but the best of it all is that from wall to cieling, a
panoramic window that allows yours eyes to see
all the surrounding nature.
We woke up early and had a light breakfast,
preparing swiftly for the expedition to Yanallpa
river. Julio would be our guide, he is a very acute
person, our favorite tourguide by far; he invited
us abourd the small boats to explore this torrent
of dark waters that form the Amazonic Rainfor-
est. It was incredible to whatch, as we floated on
the river, the trees and plants that begin to form a
tunnel of dense vegetation. As we plough through
the jungle, Julio headed our attention toward frail
monkeys. In a very funny manner white masks
are formed on their faces, aspect which makes
them seem mischivious toys. Amongst the tree
tops, we found parrots, as well as colorfull flocks
of macaws that seemed to emmulate the rainbow
with their feathers.
After dinner and a well desearved nap, we once
again got on the boats to meet “ the jungle of mir-
rors”. The water was dark and in absolut tranquili-
ty. The trees and the sky perfeclty reflected on the
river, makes it easy to loose oriantation. We were
lucky enough to see enigmatic caimans, hidden
amongst the plants and noticed by the tourguide,
due to a pair of eyes gliding on the river.
Día 2
Las lujosas habitaciones del barco se sienten
muy cómodas y espaciosas; es un acierto y un alivio
que estén equipadas con aire acondicionado, para
no sufrir el calor amazónico; poseen baños comple-
tos con duchas de agua caliente todo el día; pero lo
mejor de todo descansa en tener, desde piso hasta el
techo, una ventana panorámica para observar toda la
naturaleza circundante.
Al otro día nos despertamos temprano. Desayu-
namos liviano con la tibieza del sol y nos preparamos
para una expedición al río Yanallpa. Conocimos a Julio,
guía perspicaz y, por demás, nuestro preferido; nos in-
vitó a abordar las lanchas para explorar este torrente
de aguas oscuras que forma parte de la Selva Ama-
zónica. Resulta increíble observar, mientras flotamos
por el río, como los árboles y las plantas van formando
un túnel de vegetación espesa. Julio, mientras surcá-
bamos la selva, orientó nuestra atención sobre unos
monos frailes. De manera muy simpática se les forma
una máscara blanca en la cara, aspecto que los hace
parecer unos traviesos peluches. Entre las copas de
los árboles, encontramos algunos loros y una banda-
da de coloridos guacamayos que parecían simular un
arco iris de plumas.
Luego de una comida y una siestamerecida, subimos
a las lanchas para conocer la “selva de los espejos” El agua
era oscura y en absoluta quietud, como si durmiese. Los
árboles y el cielo estaban tan perfectamente reflejados
en el río que alguno puede perder la orientación. También
tuvimos la fortuna de alcanzar a los enigmáticos caima-
nes, escondidos entre unas plantas y notados por el guía,
gracias a un par de ojos deslizándose por el río.
