The small plazas invite visitors to enjoy their mys-
tery, the shops are entertaining and the tapas bars
are filled with people that create a unique
ambiance. Themarina within the great port ismar-
velous, features all services and is located facing
the ancient city.
Málaga features 29 sandy beaches and the one
of Don Carlos is the most popular. The nights are
never quiet, the terraces are always crowded and
people come out to breath the fresh air, to chat or
argue, one of the most popular sports of the locals.
Tapas are ordered constantly and the bars, featuring
flamenco shows, please tourists who, in them, find
a taste of that which is authentic. The nightlife is a
grand perpetual party.
FromMálaga to Benalmádena
Sailing began with a warm, dazzling day in which
the skywas joined to the sea with a color that tasted
like glory. The wind was moderate, with a south-
east direction, which facilitated our navigation.
We passed the long San Andrés beach, which is to
the south of Málaga, till we reached Guadamar, cre-
ated by the mouth of the river that, at some point,

callan nunca y las terrazas se llenan, la gente sale
a tomar fresco, a platicar o discutir, uno de los
deportes favoritos del malagueño. Las tapas se
piden a montones, los bares con espectáculos de
flamenco complacen al turista, que encuentra
una pizca de lo auténtico. La vida nocturna es una
gran fiesta perpetua.
Desde Málaga hasta Benalmádena
La navegación empezó con un día caluroso y bri-
llante, en el que el cielo se unía al mar con un
color que sabía a gloria. El viento era de fuerza
moderada, con dirección sureste, lo que facilitaba
nuestra navegación. Pasamos por la extensa
playa de San Andrés, que sigue al sur de Málaga,
hasta Guadamar, creada por la desembocadura
del río que un día debe de haber traído mucha
agua, y donde los europeos del norte extienden
sus toallas para gozar del sol.
